When choosing a wedding hairstyle it is important to have decided on your type of dress. There are 3 main looks that people seem to want to create.
Soft and Romantic
Sleek and Elegant
Modern and Funky
If you are not sure what look you want to create, I suggest getting a collection of Bridal, Hair and regular glossy magazines. Have a flick through and anything you like, even just a part of, tear out and keep.
It is also important to think about how you normally wear your hair. Most people do not want to look different on their wedding day just a fantastic version of their normal selves! For instance do not feel you have to wear it up if you would never normally do so.
How long will it last?
The longevity of your chosen style must be considered. If you have your hair up you will not have to worry about checking it as it will not change throughout the day. Your own hair type will determine how good it will look if worn down with a blow dry or tonged. I fantasised about having long pre raphaelite waves flowing over my shoulders but knew realistically my hair is so fine and straight it would look like I had not even brushed it by 3pm!!!
Is my hair long enough?
Do you need to grow your hair for the style you require? If so make sure your regular hair stylist is aware of this when you go for a haircut. To wear hair up it is best to be well below the shoulder.
